Fun Fact: Tacos have a history that stretches back centuries. Long before the arrival of Europeans in Mexico, Indigenous people in the Valley of Mexico ate tortillas filled with foods such as small fish. Spanish chronicler Bernal Díaz del Castillo later described a feast organized by Hernán Cortés in Coyoacán, an early documented encounter between the Spanish and the tortilla-based foods of the region.

The exact origin of the word “taco” is still debated, but the food itself has deep roots in Mexican history and has evolved into countless regional styles and variations.
